Sharks will once again be one of the stars of the summer. Every Monday and Friday at 1:30 pm, visitors can watch the sharks being fed in the Oceanarium and learn from the aquarium team why these fascinating animals play such a vital role in maintaining the balance of marine ecosystems.
\nIn addition, every Friday at 11:30 am, the special shark workshop will challenge many of the myths surrounding these incredible animals while revealing their extraordinary diversity. Through games, interactive activities and the examination of real biological specimens such as shark jaws, eggs and skin, participants will discover why protecting these top predators is essential for healthy oceans.<\/p>\n
Sea turtles will also take centre stage throughout the summer. During the activity “How We Care for Baby Sea Turtles”, held every Wednesday at 11:30 am, visitors will discover how the aquarium’s animal care team looks after the Caretta caretta turtles involved in the aquarium’s head-starting programme, an initiative that helps increase the survival rate of hatchlings before they are released into the wild.
The programme also includes the workshop “Here We Save Sea Turtles”, held every Monday at 11:30 am. During this educational activity, participants will learn what to do if they find a sea turtle or a turtle nest on the beach, helping to protect a species that is becoming increasingly common along our coastline thanks to ongoing conservation programmes.<\/p>\n
