The Seville Aquarium Participates in Science Week
Once again, the Seville Aquarium participates in Science Week, the largest annual science outreach event at the European level. An initiative in which many research-related entities participate and which is coordinated by the Descubre Foundation.
This year, Science Week at the Seville Aquarium focuses on marine plant biodiversity. The aim is to raise awareness about the importance of microalgae, algae, and seagrass meadows as the basis of the marine food chain and, more importantly, as regulators of climate change and as the planet’s lungs. These three large groups of living beings will show us their importance in ocean life and even in human life.
The exhibition will be located in the aquarium’s basement, next to the seahorse installation, and can be enjoyed from November 10th to November 20th.
Three large groups of living beings are the protagonists of this Science Week. Each of them will tell us, through different experiences, what they are, where they live, and their importance in the conservation of the marine environment and the sustainability of the planet.
In each section, visitors will not only be able to learn from the information but also see different biological samples and receive a free explanation from one of our expert biologists specialized in outreach.
