The Seville Aquarium Celebrates Climate Change Awareness Week

October 24th is internationally recognized as Climate Change Day, a very important date as it addresses one of the threats that devastatingly affects the most important ecosystems, often causing irreversible damage to a large part of marine biodiversity.

On the occasion of this international day, the Seville Aquarium celebrates Climate Change Awareness Week by proposing that citizens join “Sosteniblue” and help them combat this great threat that oceans face daily.

But what does “Sosteniblue” mean? “It means preserving marine biodiversity and the environment, it means using its resources sustainably and making a commitment in our daily lives to conserve the oceans” explains Susana Montero, Education Director of the aquarium.

The first step to being sustainable is to check our level of commitment to the marine environment, and for this, the aquarium is launching a contest in its facilities to put us to the test. The dynamic is easy: From October 22 to 29, we will find a ten-question quiz on the screens along the tour. We just have to scan the QR code we find on them to access a form where we can record our answers. We must choose the most sustainable option to get the points for each question.

If we achieve at least 70 points, we will be considered “Sosteniblues” and directly enter the draw for 10 packs of sustainable aquarium products (cloth bag and case, reusable bottle, notebook, and chickpea flour pen) so that we can be more sustainable with the oceans in our daily lives.

Additionally, during this week, the aquarium will be publishing on its social channels (@AcuarioSevilla) some of the most important effects on the different species that inhabit our oceans.
