WORLD SEA TURTLE DAY
Every June 16th, World Sea Turtle Day is celebrated, an occasion that the Seville Aquarium joins with the aim of raising awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans and one of the most beautiful and at the same time most threatened animals on the planet.
Sea turtles, present in our oceans for millions of years, are essential for maintaining the good condition of marine ecosystems. That’s why it’s so important to protect the oceans, which are home to these fascinating marine creatures.
To celebrate this special day, the Seville Aquarium will carry out, this Saturday, June 15th, in the city center, the activity “Tortugarte”, an action to raise public awareness about the conservation status of these animals, in which all people who wish can paint two large turtle-shaped sculptures. An opportunity to leave their mark on the conservation of sea turtles and learn much more about one of the oldest groups of reptiles on the planet.
