Antarctica Freezes the Seville Aquarium

This Christmas, Connect to Antarctica

The Seville Aquarium’s connection with nature has no limits, which is why we have decided to bring our visitors closer to the southernmost continent: Antarctica. This Christmas, visitors to the aquarium will encounter different Antarctic elements such as an iceberg made from recycled materials or an audiovisual exhibition of the nature of the coldest continent.

In addition, we have prepared many activities for all ages, from conducting experiments with ice to finding out who really inhabits this land of extreme temperatures or discovering all the secrets of penguins.

ANTARCTIC CAMPAIGN OF THE ARMY

In collaboration with the Army, visitors will have the opportunity to learn how people live and work at the Gabriel de Castilla Base located in Antarctica, through an exhibition of various materials they use in their Antarctic campaigns.

Additionally, there will be a real-time connection with the Spanish Antarctic Base, and attendees will be able to see the wonderful white landscape, the exterior and interior of the army facilities, guided by the military personnel who are in the current campaign. Visitors can ask questions about how they spend their day-to-day life there and what scientific projects they are currently collaborating on. At the aquarium, we will have the collaboration of a former member of previous campaigns for the connection.
