An Exhibition on Blue Carbon and Visits to Technical Areas as Main Activities

Once again, the Seville Aquarium participates in Science Week, which takes place from November 5 to 11 and is coordinated by the Fundación Descubre.

This year, several activities will be carried out to showcase the most scientific aspect of the Sevillian aquarium:

  • Traveling exhibition “The Blue Carbon Journey”: The Life Blue Natura project continues its journey through Andalusia to disseminate the project’s actions and the importance of Blue Carbon and its role in mitigating climate change.

The exhibition features numerous informative and educational resources, and shows visitors the importance of protecting Blue Carbon sink ecosystems in Andalusia, for their key environmental services, and how financial tools to combat climate change can contribute to their protection.

The LIFE BLUE NATURA Project is a pioneering initiative at the state and community level and is coordinated by CMAOT. This project has a duration of 4 years (2015-2019) and is co-financed 60% by the European Union through the LIFE program. Participating entities include the Andalusian Environment and Water Agency (AMAYA), the Center for Advanced Studies of Blanes, CSIC, the IUCN Mediterranean Cooperation Center and the Asociación Hombre y Territorio (HyT). The project is co-financed by the CEPSA Foundation.
