Research to conserve biodiversity

There are places on the planet that present many difficulties to be studied, one of them is the marine environment. Due to its special characteristics of: light, salinity, pressure changes and even the limited accessibility for humans, it becomes complicated to conduct research studies.

One of our priorities is to contribute to research applied to the conservation of species in their natural environment.

Have you ever wondered why the research work of aquariums is so important?

The aquarium offers many scientific possibilities to develop research related to marine biodiversity and different habitats, as the work is carried out in a controlled environment. The main purpose of the projects carried out will be the conservation of the environment or the improvement of animal welfare within the center itself.

We don't always work alone. It is vitally important that aquariums sign research agreements with other institutions in the scientific community such as universities and other official bodies.

We collaborate with the University of Seville

In collaboration with the US Marine Biology Laboratory, we are developing new lines of research in the Guadalquivir River estuary with various studies to detect how turbidity affects the conservation of the aquatic species that inhabit it.

Scientific publications

Our dedication is reflected in the numerous scientific publications in which we have collaborated. These investigations, carried out in conjunction with prestigious institutions and scientists, address crucial issues such as biodiversity, species behavior, and the preservation of aquatic ecosystems.
