The Seville Aquarium Organizes Environmental Education Workshops at IKEA Seville
The Seville Aquarium has organized an environmental awareness and education day at the IKEA Seville facilities today.
During today’s event, IKEA Seville visitors have been able to participate in different activities programmed by the aquarium to raise awareness among children and parents about the importance of caring for the environment. From 10:30 AM until 6:45 PM, families who have visited the IKEA store have been able to participate in various free activities that the aquarium educators have designed to explain to children the situation our seas are facing due to the 200 kilos of plastic that are dumped every second.
One of the main attractions of the activity has been a jellyfish tank (installed in the relaxation area of the restaurant) that has served as a starting point to explain to the whole family what we can do to improve and reverse the situation our seas are facing. This workshop has been articulated around these animals, which are one of the best bioindicators of environmental changes.
The other activity developed has been a workshop where children and their families have learned about the main benefits of the sea for human beings and how marine ecosystems are threatened by people’s bad habits.
