The Seville Aquarium has been awarded the Biodiversity Conservation Award during the 3rd Forever Green Gala, organized by the Real Betis Balompié Foundation. This recognition highlights its constant commitment to ocean protection and the recovery of endangered marine species.
The gala, which brought together entities, companies, and institutions involved in the fight against climate change and environmental protection, highlighted the head-starting project for sea turtles that the aquarium develops in collaboration with the Ministry of Environment and Territory of the Balearic Government. Thanks to this program, Caretta caretta turtle hatchlings grow in controlled conditions until they reach an optimal size to embark on their journey through the sea, thus increasing their survival rate.
“This award is an impetus to keep moving forward and a recognition of the work we do every day, with the support of companies and entities that share our mission”, said Rocío Alcázar, manager of the aquarium.
During the event, the importance of the sponsorship of a sea turtle by Cafés Templo was also highlighted, in collaboration with the Forever Green program. A symbolic action but full of impact, which reflects the joint work between entities committed to the planet.
Thanks to these types of collaborations, the Seville Aquarium reinforces its role as an active agent in ocean conservation, environmental awareness, and the recovery of endangered marine fauna.
