Dance under the Sea at the Seville Aquarium

The aquarium hosts a dance performance to celebrate World Water Day

The Seville Aquarium celebrated World Water Day today with an underwater dance activity. Thanks to the collaboration with the Professional Conservatory “Antonio Ruiz Soler”, they managed to make visitors feel the power of water through music.

The Sea can be experienced in many ways; it is not only linked to the world of biology but has also become a source of inspiration for many artistic disciplines, including dance. Sounds that evoke the power of the ocean, translated into contemporary dance movements, have come to life today at the Seville Aquarium.

This performance is conceived as a spectacle in which the marine setting itself takes center stage. For this, the students of the Professional Dance Conservatory, dressed in wetsuits and flippers, have prepared a flashmob that has immersed all visitors in a different ocean.

The objective of this activity is to enrich the training of future dancers with an experience complementary to their daily learning.

As every March 22nd, since the United Nations General Assembly declared it in 1992, World Water Day is celebrated. This year, on its 25th anniversary, a topic of great social importance is addressed: “nature at the service of water”, seeking to demonstrate that the solution to water-related problems is within our reach.
