The Charity Concert by the Europa International School Choir at the Seville Aquarium Raises over €6000

The Seville Aquarium and the Europa International School have joined forces to hold a solidarity concert to raise funds for the major project “Aladina’s Journey”, through which the Aladina Foundation is promoting a comprehensive renovation of the Pediatric Oncohematology area at the Virgen del Rocío Hospital. The money raised will be used to decorate furniture and corridors with motifs related to Magellan’s adventure.

The Brahms Choir of the Europa International School, consisting of 60 members from 1st year of secondary education to 2nd year of high school, directed by Professor Antonio Pinto and accompanied by Professor Carlos Harto on percussion, former student Luis Harto on bass, and Emilio Bautista on piano, offered a concert on June 18th, with two sessions at six and eight in the evening, at the Global Omnium Auditorium of the Seville Aquarium, with a capacity for 250 people.

Magellan’s world among children
The Aladina Foundation is launching its first major project in Andalusia, consisting of a comprehensive renovation of the Pediatric Oncohematology area with a capacity for 22 beds, which will also include a new Parents’ Pavilion where they can rest and a large play area in the Patio of the Brave.

Children will be the protagonists of Aladina’s Journey, which refers to the one Magellan made 500 years ago around the world, so the decoration of furniture and corridors will refer to the distant places that expedition traveled. Each of the 22 bed headboards will also recall the points through which the sailors passed: Cape Desire, Strait of Magellan, Tidore Island, Cook Islands,… until returning to Seville.
