The Seville Center Complies with the International Standard for Asset Management that Ensures its Sustainability and a Lower Environmental Impact.
The Seville Aquarium has obtained the UNE-ISO 55001, which proves that it meets the requirements established by the standard, thus becoming the first in the world of this type of companies to certify this international standard for asset management with AENOR, which adds to the recently obtained carbon footprint certificate and consolidates it at the forefront of environmental management of aquariums worldwide.
The implementation of the life cycle involves the efficient management of facilities and infrastructure, which guarantee over time the availability of elements that represent the vital support of the species collection and the natural wealth of the Aquarium, as well as the lowest present and future environmental impact, not only due to its carbon footprint or water footprint, but also due to the ability to incorporate as a basic element a correct eco-design and a correct eco-intelligence of asset life cycle management.
The most prestigious certification
The Life Cycle Analysis related to the environment and the Circular Economy is one of the most prestigious certifications and the most difficult and complex to achieve, as it requires the mandatory incorporation of Asset Management elements and tools through which the present and future continuity of the activity is developed and guaranteed within the commitment to sustainability publicly announced by the president of Global Omnium, Eugenio Calabuig.
It also requires a supreme degree of excellence in its design, conservation, management, planning and control, adopting maintenance guidelines in accordance with this Life Cycle Analysis, transforming and professionalizing the usual maintenance and conservation activity from eco-design and correct eco-intelligence of Asset Management, which represent the elements of vital support of a marine center.
